Coaching Opportunities

 

The Great Bay Skating Club in Dover, NH,  currently has several types of coaching positions available for our 2007-2008 season.  Our programs are growing and we need coaches and substitute coaches for our Basic Skills programs; we offer Basic Skills group lessons for tots through adults on Saturday mornings.  We are also accepting applications for qualified skating professionals to teach individual private lessons in ice dance, moves in the field, and freestyle during our ice times.  Minimum test levels to teach private lessons are: Novice MIF and Intermediate Freestyle.  Test levels for Basic Skills positions vary.  Applicants for all positions must be in good standing with US Figure Skating and have proof of current insurance.  Great Bay hosts an annual Basic Skills Competition and regular test sessions, as well as a Holiday Ice Show and our Annual Spring Ice Show, Ice Crystals.

Program Director, Babson Skating Center

This position provides and is responsible for leadership, innovation, and coordination of Skating School and assigned programs such as: Moves and Free, Ice Dance, and Professional Skaters. Also, responsible for the design, delivery and administration of these programs as well as establishing annual goals and objectives. Specific responsibilities include: prepare and distribute brochures and materials; plan, implement, and evaluate instructional skating programs; oversee registration and placement of all participants; select, train, assign, supervise and evaluate all instructors, monitors, and personnel; oversee maintenance of all skating program records; process rink cash outs and prepare banks; oversee and monitor skating school budget; order, distribute, and maintain department inventory and materials; schedule game ticket sellers; assume additional responsibilities as required.

Associate's degree preferred with 3-5 years experience. Successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, program management expertise, and computer proficiency. The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is required. This position requires some light lifting.
